Anonymous asked: how do u become a better runner?
- Take it slow! You won’t be able to drastically improve your times or distances overnight. Start at something manageable, then work your way up. Follow the 10% rule: Don’t increase your workout more than 10% per week.
- If you want to speed up, fartleks are great for helping you run faster. Basically, you jog for a distance (for example, between two lampposts) and then you sprint for a distance (again, between two lampposts).
- If you’re looking to be able to run for longer, slowly increase the distance you run a little bit every day. Your stamina will increase, and you’ll be able to run longer. Keep from getting bored with your routine by switching up where you run! I love to run at different parks for a change of scenery.
- If you’re serious about running, invest in some good running shoes. Taking care of your feet is the first step to keeping your legs injury-free, which is absolutely invaluable.
Hope this helped! xx
